It’s definitely not often that I write about beauty tools, especially not brushes, but this one I just had to share! I’m not sure why I don’t share my favourite tool finds, I’ve got some really amazing brushes and sponges that truly do make all the difference in application, but I guess I just don’t think about them as much as colour cosmetics! I was lucky enough to receive this EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush from FarleyCo. to try out, along with a couple other great goodies, and decided I just had to share my experience with everyone!

I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned this before on my blog, but I don’t like to use natural hair brushes for a couple reasons. First, the obvious, animal cruelty and hating the thought of using a brush made from animals. Second, they give me really bad rashes on my skin – every time I use a natural hair brush my whole face breaks out in hives! So, this EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush really caught my eye and I was excited to try it out!

At first glance, I definitely wondered what the heck this brush was for. The EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush has dense, firmly packed, duo bristles (it’s hard to tell in the photo but they are there) which closely resembles a stippling brush. After reading the package I noticed it’s suggested usage was for BB Cream! I thought that was a little out there – isn’t the purpose of a BB Cream to be easy to apply, generally with fingers and fuss free? But hey, I’m a beauty junkie so why not have a brush for every occasion?

In this photo you can see the duo fibres a bit better (the darker beige at the bottom and white at the top). This brush has a great angle on it for getting into hard to reach areas like around the eyes, nose and mouth. The handle is made out of sustainable bamboo and the ferrule is made out of recycled metals. It’s a very sturdy feeling brush and I haven’t had any fall out of the bristles after multiple uses and washings. This brush has actually found a permanent home in my brush cup since I have been using tinted moisturizer (or BB Cream) instead of foundation these past few weeks!

There’s my dirty brush for proof that I’ve been using it daily haha.

I’ve been using my EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush everyday with my Pixi H20 Skin Tint in No.2 Nude. I’ve actually found a big difference in applying it with the brush versus my fingers. It provides a truly perfected application, almost airbrushed, and makes sure the skin care and colour are evenly distributed over the skin. I also find myself using a lot less of the product when applying it with the brush versus with my hands. (PS – This skin tint is amazing too!)

Overall, I’m loving this brush! I honestly didn’t expect it to become a staple brush in my routine but it definitely has! EcoTool brushes are a high quality, eco-friendly and budget friendly option for anyone looking to increase their brush wardrobe!
