So, I’m a little bit paranoid when it comes to developing fine line and wrinkles around my eyes. I’ve used an eye cream since I was about 19 years old and always wear sunscreen and (attempt to remember to) wear my sunglasses. But before I became obsessed with combatting the signs of aging, I was obsessed with baking my face in the sun for hours. I so wish I had known the risks associated with sun and tanning bed exposure earlier in my teens but sadly, we cannot go back in time! Now, I’m trying to repair any damage I have done and maybe even reverse it if I can.
This brings me to the topic of eye masks, especially the VIICode Oxygen Eye Mask. Not only do I have some darkness, dryness and pigmentation issues around my eyes, I often wake up with super intense puffiness as well, thanks to my allergy to the world (literally, I think I’m allergic to everything in the air). It doesn’t matter what time of year it is, it can strike at any time and leave me looking sick, tired and downright scary.
So when I was asked to review a new eye mask I hadn’t heard of before, I obviously jumped at the chance to get my baggage under control!
VIICode Oxygen Eye Mask – $54.99 USD (6 Treatments)
This eye mask comes in two different formulations, one for All Night use and one for Dark Circles. Mine (in the green packaging) is the All Night version. When I first received the box I have to say I was surprised that it stated they were for overnight wear. Every other eye mask I’ve used you only apply for about 10-20 minutes, so I immediately knew VII was different. The All Night Oxygen mask uses EOPE (Ecological Oxygen Plant Extractions) technology that instantly allow your skin to take in more oxygen, which invigorates the eye are and gives it better ability to repair itself.
Each packet comes with 2 self-adhesive eye pads that have the most interesting texture I’ve ever experienced! They are incredibly sticky but remove super gently – I’m not sure how they did it! I was worried that these wouldn’t stay on my eyes overnight (Read: I like sleeping on my face) but they managed to make it through the first night and most of the second and third night that I used them. Overall, impressive sticking results!
I tried to get a good photo to show just how sticky they are but each photo didn’t do them justice, it’s something you’ll just have to experience for yourself! The VIICode Oxygen eye masks have a lot of different benefits, here’s a few of the major ones:
- Reduce Visible Signs of Aging
- Improve Dullness
- Reduce Dryness
- Reduce Puffiness
- Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles
These also contain a host of beneficial (and natural) ingredients to help support the delicate skin around the eyes. Hyaluronic Acid, Welwitschia Mirabilis, Resurrection Fern and a variety of Vitamins and Deep Sea minerals are just a few.
Obviously, my eyes are makeup free in the photo above because you want to use these on fresh, clean skin so the active ingredients have a better chance of being sucked up and giving you noticeable benefits. I would have shown you a picture of my whole face, but I took this in the morning and my hair was seriously LOL worthy!
I definitely notice a difference in the hydration under my eyes after wearing these overnight and man do they decrease puffiness! The best part about using these is I actually wake up looking, well, awake. Imagine that. I don’t personally have extreme dark circles that needed fixing but I have noticed I’ve been using less under eye concealer since using these. All I need is a little Smashbox Under Eye Brightener and I’m good to go!
So, my question to you guys is do you use eye masks regularly? What do you use them for: puffiness, dark circles, fine lines? What’s your favourite or go-to brand? Let me know in the comments section!
