Aveeno Canada Positively Radiant Fall Collection [SPONSORED]

Aveeno Positively Radiant

It’s fall, it’s fall, it’s finally fall! And you know what that means, boots, scarves and most unfortunate of the three, dry skin. Boo! Thankfully, Aveeno Canada has us covered with their new Positively Radiant SPF 15 and Positively Radiant CC Eye Cream with SPF 25, which is available in 2 universal shades.

The past two weeks, my skin has been shrivelling up like a prune. Okay, maybe it’s not that bad but there’s been peeling, dry patches and definite signs of dehydration (hello, fine lines!) so these products showed up in my mailbox at just the right time!

Positively Radiant

The Positively Radiant line from Aveeno Canada is uniquely formulated with patented Active Naturals Total Soy Complex technology which targets the 5 main long-term factors of radiance:

  1. Tone
  2. Texture
  3. Dullness
  4. Blotchiness
  5. Brown spots

Each formulation also includes light diffusers, Silica and Mica, to instantly blur the look of fine lines, wrinkles and discolourations, instantly revealing brighter and younger looking skin.

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 15 – $21.99 CAD

Like I said at the beginning of this post, I have been suffering with trying to find new skin care and makeup items to transition my skin into fall. Lately, no matter what I’ve used, I’ve found myself looking in the bathroom mirror midday only to realize the “glowing” skin I saw in the morning is now dry, dehydrated and dull.

Honestly, I shouldn’t be surprised, this happens every fall. The difference is usually I have some go-to products to fix it, but this year, none of my old faithfuls are working! So I decided to go a different route with a bit of help from Aveeno.

I’m delighted to say that this moisturizer has slowly been getting my skin back to normal (and that’s saying a lot, you can’t expect instant results with skin this dry!). The blend of lightweight moisturizers along with Soy Bean Seed Extract and Glycerin plump up skin cells while SPF 15 protects and defends against future damage and dryness. The light-diffusion technology is on point in this product and doesn’t look the least bit fake or shimmery – it just gives you the perfect lit-from-within glow we’re all looking for!

Aveeno Positively Radiant CC Eye Cream SPF 25 – $20.95 CAD – Available in: Fair/Light & Medium

I’m a huge fan of eye creams. I have an entire drawer in my makeup room dedicated to them and to be honest, I’m often left pretty underwhelmed after trying them. This one is different – in more ways than one!

I was super excited to see that Aveeno Canada had started making a tinted eye cream – if you don’t know, they are extremely hard to come by! One of my favourite eye creams of all time was Olay’s Regenerist Touch of Concealer Eye Regenerating Cream but alas, it has been discontinued (at least in Canada). While they have since replaced it with another “CC cream”, it just isn’t the same and I couldn’t make myself like it. (Sigh)

When I first swatched these on my hand I noticed they had the same creamy texture and subtle tint as my previous Olay version – but Aveeno added something extra – radiance! While I loved my Touch of Concealer cream, it did tend to leave my undereye area looking rather “flat” and I often had to top it off with some sort of brightener. Aveeno eliminates the need for that extra step (and product) by adding in it’s subtle light diffusion technology. Score!

Another thing I’ve always found myself longing for an eye cream is a decent amount of SPF. As you may see in the first photo, I have some sun discolouration from my tanning teen years (stupid!), so for me is essential that my eye cream have SPF to combat any more damage! I’ve searched high and low and the only ones I’ve found have either been just suncreens (ie. not moisturizing, brightening or anything else) or they’ve been decent formulations (all the bells and whistles) but with some silly SPF rating of 8 or 10 – hardly enough to protect anyone from any sort of sun exposure! Amazingly, Aveeno included a super sheer, blendable SPF 30 in this formulation which makes me sincerely wonder why other brands aren’t doing it!

In the left photo, I have no face makeup on – only mascara and eye liner. In the Right photo I have the same mascara and eyeliner but I’ve added Aveeno Positively Radiant CC Eye Cream in Fair/Light. I really think it makes my eyes look more awake, more refreshed and all around brighter without looking heavy or cakey.

Overall, the standout for me is the Aveeno Positively Radiant CC Eye Cream with SPF 25 – the formulation really knocks it out of the park! If you’ve never considered having a sunscreen in your eye care I highly recommend it. And hey, why not knock another to-do off the list and have your concealer built right in too? Aveeno, you’re a genius.

Thanks for enlightening me to the fact that my eye cream has no SPF! How crazy! I will try the Aveeno CC tinted eye cream if I can find it in the states 😀

You do an amazing job! Keep up the great work!

I know Suzanne! It boggles my mind now that they don’t put SPF in eye creams! I’m sure you’ll be able to find this in the States as well, we usually get things last 😉

And thank you for the wonderful compliment 🙂
