CBB Guest Post: Worth the Splurge - Dior Addict Lipstick by Beauty Infinitum

Hi everyone! I’m Stephanie of Beauty Infinitum, guest posting here on the lovely Shaylee’s blog! The CBB guest post topic this month is “Worth the Splurge,” and when it was announced, I knew right away what product I would choose: the Dior Addict Lipstick in Diorkiss.
Now, full disclosure: I actually received this as a birthday gift, but I definitely plan on picking up more shades when my financial situation allows! At $34 CAD, Dior Addict lipsticks are definitely not cheap. I’m very used to spending $10 or less on lipsticks. While the drugstore certainly has some great options (especially lately!), there is just something truly special about high-end.

Dior’s packaging is exquisite. I will admit it’s not as “weighty” as I’d expect, but the design and function is top-notch. The lipstick has an outer tube which comes off completely, and the inner tube containing the lipstick can twist up or down. The outer tube is also iridescent, which you can see in the first photo of this post. I’ve spent a fair amount of time just turning it around to see the different colours reflected!
I love the knob that is used to pull the inner tube out. It’s a common feature in many of Dior’s products and definitely unique.
Of course, you’re probably wondering about the formula! No point in paying $34 for pretty packaging but a lousy lipstick, right? Oh… it is so good. It’s a melt-on-your-lips balm-type, with semi-sheer, beautiful pigment. Diorkiss is a lovely pink that works with most looks. It’s the lipstick I’ve worn the most since receiving it. As is usual with balmy lipsticks, the shade lasts about 2-3 hours on my lips, depending on what I eat or drink. But with such pretty packaging, it’s not a big deal to me to pull it out and reapply on the go!
Love it!
So, do you need a Dior Addict Lipstick? No. It’s not a revolutionary formula, and Diorkiss isn’t a unique shade. But, it’s definitely a great formula and shade, and the packaging is gorgeous. I think it’s a great product to start with if you’re new to Dior’s products (like I was), or as a luxurious gift to yourself (or someone else!) I definitely need more shades, and I need to check out Dior’s other lip products. Hide my wallet!
I hope I’ve enabled some of you who were on the fence about trying Dior (or more of their products)! Just remember to feed yourself and pay your bills first! 😉
Thanks so much to Stephanie for writing this awesome post for Canadian Beauty Bloggers “Worth the Splurge!”, I kind of wish we didn’t pick this topic because now I’m just going to want a bunch of expensive things! 😛 – Shaylee
