I love eyeliner. It’s something that’s always on my face no matter what kind of makeup look I’m wearing, from the most simple to the most glamorous. I’m always expanding my eyeliner wardrobe and the newest addition to my ever-growing collection is this little beauty – MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner in Black Line from the Alluring Aquatic Collection.
MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner’s are one of my favourite liners from MAC. I love that they all have a hint of pearl/shimmer in them to give your eyes a little something extra! Sometimes, a girl just wants a bit of glitter! Both of the liners in the Alluring Aquatic collection are permanent in the line but the packaging is limited edition Aqua Blue! The two colours in the collection are Black Line and Black Swan, and since I already own Black Swan I thought I would complete my shimmery black eyeliner collection with Black Line.
I actually initially picked this pencil up in store because it looked like it would be a deep Olive colour, which is one of my favourite colours for my green eyes! And essentially, it is. It’s described as Black with Gold Pearl but the end effect is definitely a sort of olive green once applied.
MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liner’s have an extremely smooth application and super long wearing formula. It’s definitely, in my opinion, one of their best liner formulas. It can be a little tricky to apply a perfectly straight line because it does have a very creamy texture during application. You do get a little bit of play time before it sets so you can go in with a q-tip or finger and smooth out the line (I have to do this every single time haha) or even smudge it out into a smokey eye. Once it does set, it isn’t going to budge throughout the day and definitely lives up to it’s “smudge-free” claims.
I love, love, LOVE this colour! It definitely compliments my green eyes and makes them pop. The hint of gold shimmer/pearl helps light up the eyes to give them more sparkle. I still think this looks more olive green than Black/Gold but you can see the flecks of gold laced throughout. One word of warning about these pencils is you can’t use them along the waterline and be careful not to get them in your eye. That happened to me the other day and I felt like I was winking at everyone I talked to because the tiny pieces of glitter were stritching and scratching against my eye ball!
Overall, if you’re looking for a liner with a little extra pizazz, a lot of staying power and a really smooth application I definitely recommend the MAC Pearlglide Intense Eye Liners. They are permanent in the collection so you can pick them up any time. I just so happened to grab this one from the Alluring Aquatic line.
