No Faux Glow Here, It's All Natural! - Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronze Concentrate

I think I may have more reviews of bronzing products on my blog than anything else, but as a very pale and sun aware person I have to get my glow somewhere! I’m always searching for new ones, but not just any ones. I’m searching for very specific, not-sure-if-it-exists-in-real-life and people look at you weird when you ask for it kinds of ones. Let me explain.

I’m chronically afraid of shimmer in any sort of face product that isn’t a highlighter. I work in fluorescent lighting and am outside the rest of the day, therefore, I am never in light that will make any sort of shimmer on my face look natural and thus risk looking like a disco ball. Bronzers are notorious for shimmer. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good shimmer bronzer, but they aren’t very practical for me in everyday life. I also have relatively dry skin so matte powder bronzers can look cakey and chalky on me. So, I recently went to my local Sephora and MAC in hopes I could find a liquid bronzer to add to my moisturizer so I could fulfill my wish of that just back from a vacation glow. First off, the girl at Sephora looked at me like I had asked for something that has never existed, anywhere, ever – even though I know at least Tarte makes one. Needless to say I found that one myself and even though the tube says matte, it’s a lie. After no luck, I moved on to MAC. I remembered way back in the day they had something called Sun Drops (I think) and it was a liquid bronzer you could use on face and body. Again, the girl looked at me like I was crazy so, I decided to head back to my good ol’ friend, the internet.

There I found Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronze Concentrate (newly known as Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronzing Tint if you have the old packaging like I do). And guess what? It’s everything I’ve ever dreamed of in a bronzer!

This product is exactly as the name suggests – a translucent bronzing concentrate. It’s designed to add to your foundation or moisturizer to warm up your skin and give you a believable and non-disco like bronze glow. This is also a great alternative to use if you don’t want to apply foundation. The mineral pigments blur small imperfections and even out your skin without looking like you’re wearing anything. I was recently in Mexico and wore this every single day mixed with my sunscreen! Another great thing about Dr. Hauschka Translucent Bronze Concentrate (as with all of their products) is that it’s all natural and good for your skin (hence my witty title…).

This bronze fluid applies incredibly smoothly and evenly and is super lightweight on skin. It doesn’t add any extra feeling of product on the skin (which I love), sets after a few moments and doesn’t transfer off throughout the day. According to the website you can use this on body as well, but with the small size and big price tag I wouldn’t recommend it. Instead, for body, I would recommend St. Tropez One Night Only Instant Glow Body Lotion if you’re looking for a natural full body glow with no commitment.

All in all, I can’t say enough about this product and I don’t know who wouldn’t benefit from adding it to their morning routine! We all like to have a little sunkissed glow and this is the safe, easy and non-streaking/staining/orange way to go about it!
