Perfect Your Pout with ELF Studio Matte Lip Colors

As you all well know, I’ve been on a huge ELF kick lately! It’s hard not to love the brand when they have such affordable prices and pretty amazing products that you could easily own in every colour they make. One of the stand out’s of the line to me, so far, is the ELF Studio Matte Lip Color. I’ve never been much of a fan of lipstick, or any lip products other than balm for that matter, but I’ve been trying to branch out and try new things! And at only $3.00 (or less right now, they are 50% off!) this is an easy way to experiment.

I’ve picked up three colours so far and I love them all, but I do have an extra soft spot for the Coral one! These lip colours come in a “chubby pencil” form, which make them incredibly easy to apply, touch up with and carry in your purse. The colour selection isn’t huge right now but all are great options. Most lean towards neutral shades with the obvious exception of Richly Red (which I want!).

Not only are these pencils very smooth and easy to apply, they last quite a while and provide a semi-matte finish to the lips. I like that they aren’t completely matte and offer a little bit of shine or else they could have come across as dry. The matte, I assume, refers to no shimmer or sparkle in any of the shades. Another great feature is that these pencils never need to be sharpened, as they are automatic twist up’s.

Natural Light

When I first looked at the packaging swatches, I was worried these would all look really similar on the lips, but as you can see by the swatches they all have a unique colour! The Coral  is a gorgeous summer pop of colour, whereas the Natural and Nearly Nude are great for a neutral or nude lip with Natural being more Pink undertoned and Nearly Nude more beige.

Flash

I can’t say enough about these ELF Studio Matte Lip Colors! They feel super creamy on the lips and don’t dry out like many other matte lip colours can. I like to pair them over top of my Nuxe Lip Balm which also has a matte finish. This keeps my lips hydrated and provides a flake-free base for the lip colour to adhere to. That’s the combination you will see on my lips in the next photo!

Coral

Again, these have a really pretty finish and I hope the come out with a ton more colours! I’ve received compliments on the Coral colour especially. Don’t forget, ELF is having a 50% off sale right now as part of their Birthday month! Be sure to go check it out. If you end up hauling, I’d love to know what you got – just leave me your link in the comments!
