LUSH Almond Coconut SMOOTHie Review

Uncategorized / Friday, June 29th, 2012

I don’t use a ton of LUSH products but this is one that I have repurchased and use up frequently! I have super sensitive skin that reacts easily to any kind of irritation be it from creams, razors, exfoliants or allergens. So as you may have guessed, shaving is one of my worst nightmares!

It never fails, every time I shave my legs, no matter if it’s a new razor, old razor, expensive razor or cheap razor I end up with cuts, rashes and pain! So in my hunt for a smoother more comfortable shave, I decided to switch my shaving “medium” instead of the razor… Maybe that would help?

It did! This super thick and slick cream coats my legs in moisture and provides a really smooth shave without any irritation afterwards. LUSH Almond Coconut Smoothie is actually a body wash but I never use it as one.

This isn’t the best photo (I couldn’t get a good focus on it) but you can tell how thick and creamy it is. It even foams a little bit if you apply it just right.

Proof that I used this to death! This is the gross, old pot from in my shower (hence why it’s wet).

I will let you know that the scent of this cream is not what you would expect! I don’t think it smells like Coconut or Almond, I actually think it smells weird.. and bad. But the scent isn’t strong so it doesn’t bother me too much. I’m just saying don’t expect a lovely tropical scent from this one! But even with the questionable scent, this is unbeatable when it comes to a close shave with no irritation (and that won’t clog your razor – think EOS shave cream). The pot also lasts quite a while and little goes a long way so don’t let the price deter you from trying!

LUSH Almond & Coconut Smoothie

  • great review you make me want to buy it haha. i have sensitive skin too that gets easily irritated. Maybe i’ll get a sample of this first! 😀

    • Definitely! You should get a sample of their smoothie for sensitive skin as well, it’s called Dreamwash. I got a sample when I picked this one up. It’s very calming but doesn’t have as much “slip” so it’s not as good for shaving but it’s great for a body wash!
