When it comes to all natural skin care and cosmetics, no one can hold a candle to 100% Pure! This is their Luminous Primer with Vitamins and Antioxidants. Personally, I find a huge difference it the application and wear of my makeup when I use a good primer – not all primers are created equal and not every primer is for all skin types. For example, some primers such as Laura Merciers Hydrating Primer may be too heavy for people with oily skin and Smashbox’s Anti-Shine may be too drying for someone with oily skin. I have had trouble finding a primer that works well for me without feeling like I have an extra layer on my skin. I want something breathable, light but that still helping with long wear of makeup and a smooth finish – not that tall of an order, right?
Here is where 100% Pure’s Luminous Primer makes its skin saving debut! I was skeptical that an all natural primer could stand up to what a silicone primer can do. How could ingredients like Aloe, Rice Starch and Jojoba Oil provide a baby smooth finish, make pores vanish and give intense makeup longevity one expects from a primer? Magic. That’s my conclusion.
Here is a complete list of this wondrous liquid:
Organic Aloe Barbadensis Leaf (Aloe Gel)1, Jojoba Oil, Jojoba Wax Esters, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Starch, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Sodium Ascorbate (Vitamin C), Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Extracts of Organic Camelia Sinensis Leaf Ferment (Green Tea)2 and Resveratrol, Silica, Persea Gratissima Oil (Avocado Butter), Lonicera Caprifolium (Japanese Honeysuckle), Mica

The consistency was something I had to get used to when using this product. It is very liquidy and spreads easily but it wasn’t what I was used to after the thick and heavy primers of my past. One pump is all you need to cover your entire face a neck (don’t forget your eyes because it is super natural and gentle!) and there have got to be close to 1 million pumps in this bottle (slight exaggeration I suppose)! This primer provides a glowing, luminous (as the name suggests) finish to the skin without any hint of noticeable shimmer. It provides a super smooth canvas to apply foundation and concealer and definitely minimizes fine lines. As for diminishing the look of pores it isn’t the hero I hoped it would be but it doesn’t accentuate them in any way so it’s neutral in that respect.
If you love using natural ingredients and don’t like the feel of silicones on your skin this is an absolute must have in your makeup bag to create a flawless complexion. Even if you are someone who does like a silicone based concealer I would still recommend checking this product out, especially for the hot summer months where you don’t want to feel like you have “extra” on your face. The silica and rice starch also help to control excess oil without leaving skin looking too matte or feeling dry.
I have read a lot about silicones and whether or not they are beneficial in skin care products. I have been lead to believe they clog pores, but it seems they cannot do so. In fact, they sit on top of the skin and provide a barrier. For some reason I still seem to break out when I use products with silicones in them but maybe it is due to other ingredients included.
